I'm just saying that it's not exactly making a bicycle any greener. Any battery is going to have nasty elements in it that are often the product of fairly high impact mining and then associated refining. Also the plastic casing is likely to be oil based, something we really need to move away from in our mindset.
The time spent inventing that could have been used researching ways to reduce the impact of mining ores etc which make up the tube work of our beloved steeds. Or indeed looking at ways to protect and ensure clean water for the world. Copenhagen is a bit of a media excercise at the moment and I just feel that is a bit of a shame as a great deal more good could come out of it. I like it as a fun invention, it's a bit Wipeout/Crazy Taxi, but as a serious proposal it ihas a way to go to be convincing or really that usefull.
I personally prefer to get my bursts of speed from a bottle of HTFU that I keep on my bike at all times. A quick shot of that and it's good by Ferrari! Seriously though, I'm monsterously slow.
I like the conversation that's going on about this, hopefully one of us will be inspired to solve the global climate change issue and bring us all into the 'green economy'!
