For Sale: Just finished 26" fixed gear

  • I finished this bike a week ago and love it - had a few good spins and it's really comfy and handles terrain well if you want a off-road fixed - I hit some not too techinical singletrack on saturday and had a blast in the mud.

    HOWEVER

I've deided to go all Zen ad strip back my collection to one proper rat bike (really good but rough looking components) and be happy with that.

so this is up for grabs for a reasonable price (I'm not that zen!) - I appreciate it's not to everyones taste so if I cant shift it then it's not the end of the world.

It's a custom (Argos MOD standard) Single speed frame (dropouts etc. courtesy of Freshtripe) - because of it's geometry it's a little confusing but it fits me PERFECTLY and I normally ride a 54 x 54 c-t-c track frame (that's luckily exactly what a cyclefit prescribed too). I had the rear brake bosses removed to make the frame look a little cleaner too.

Thorn Crankset with Funn 40t BMX chainring - drivetrain is 3/32"
    Shimano BB
NS Bikes red single speed rear on mavic 317 rims - 16t bolt on cog from velosolo
Black Hope Pro front hub on mavic 317's - both with DT swiss Black spokes
    Pig Dowhill Pro headset
Atomlab BMX stem and 2" risers cut down to 480mm
Michelin Country Rock Tyres - grate for road and dirt... not so much the mud.
Other stuff... That's not a white chain, just the camera flash.

    Whole Bike

Rides great, chainline perfect and adjustable @ 46mm

I'd like to make back most of the money for the frame and wheels - so I'm asking £450 posted (or collect in Manchester) but will discuss offers. Like I said, maybe a bit niche for everyone but if you fancy and off road/ winter machine the it's here.

    Cheers

  • so is it effectively a flip flop hub?

  • Yeah absolutely, the freewheel's not on there but I have a dicta one I can put on and some attachable brake bosses for the rear if anyone's that way inclined... it's this hub:

    in the red

  • nice build. I'm broke, and have my own 26" fixed/free so i'm not buying though.
    good luck!

  • Thanks it is but I'm set i'm set on scaling down over the next month or two - not just bikes neither so hopefully someone else can enjoy it

  • I've taken some new pics now if anyone wants to see them - just ask and i'll post

  • will buy for 55p and a dumpling!!!

  • that places you right up there at this stage... would you include gravy with said dumpling?

  • I've got a bus pass with 4 days left, and some ribena

  • I've got a bus pass with 4 days left, and some ribena

Are you prepared to split the buss pass, I only need 2 days.

  • Price drop to £400 and will discuss offers (I fucking hate ribena...)

  • i would rather not split the pass, if you find someone else for the other days we can make a deal. I may want to keep one of the days myself, it depends.

why don't you like Ribena? This one is toothkind.

  • looks like a fun ride, does the bambi come with it?

  • I would be a very unpopular man if the Bambi came with it.

Toothkind is even worse - insipid purple shit...

    Any real takers?

  • ok when last pitch afore t'bay:

£350 posted (less than the cost of frame and wheels) - bearing this bike is solid bloody brand new and assembled perfectly.

  • Well it's not on the 'bay yet (camera issues) and I really want rid so final price ditch here:

£300 and it's yours - you've basically paid for the frame there and got the rest inc. a brand new wheel set free.

I'll flog the wheelset seperate if someone wants for £100 too.

    Thanks
