H+Son do a polished silver now. BLB has them.

Hmm, not looking for a rim which is so deep actually. But will check them out cheers.

Just realised this should probably be in Bike and Bits, sorry !

Pretty sure Rigida DP18s come in a chrome finish now... If you can't find them online they had them in stock at Bike 14 over the summer...

you can always strip paint and polish rims yourself, takes some time but the weather is shit outside anyway
-
• #8
I've done this, I wouldn't recommend it... ;]

true.

Remember kidz, if you're using paint stripper or de-anodising rims with caustic soda you should really do this in a well ventilated place... Like outside...

Can't make up my mind if the effort to polish some CXP33s is worth it. Although as you say Fruit, it is winter...

^it's better than popcorn. watch a (not balcony porn) movie and you'll have two ocupied afternoons/nights and some very nicely poliched rims afterwards

+1
I did it to my deep Vs, took a few hours with a polishing kit and I managed to bust the speed controller on my drill but the rims look mint now.

i ve polished 5 sets of my wheels now, watch a movie smoke a joint and polish some wheels :)
-
• #19
^how did you polish yours? I did a fork just with wet sandpaper and then a gel that I can't remember the name of

polishing kit
Without being really stupid, what does this kit entail? I have no drill so it'll have to be an elbow-grease kit; wet n dry I presume, but what else?
-
• #21
Mine consisted of a few polishing mops and compounds of varying grades. I then finished it off with autosol.
-
• #22
I wound up missing on a couple of grades of wet'n'dry cuz I got so fucking bored... De-anodising is a cunt of a job tho', maybe stripping'll be easier... Surprisingly easy to get good results tho'... Search for 'shiny rims' and you'll find a link to Jol's expert polishing step-by-step guide...

Yeah, I checked out that thread a while back. I'm thinking nitromores will be the quickest method and then go from there...

The polished DP18's that Shop14 have got are special's exclusively for them direct from Rigida. They're probably best to speak to if you wanted to down the Rigida route.
I'm looking for some polished semi-aero rims (25mm roughly), I know there are Deep Vs but was hoping for something like a Mavic CXP33, which I understand comes in silver.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some alternatives to stripping a CXP33?
