It hasn't happened this afternoon, yet, so not sure if it was an intermittent problem. Shouldn't imagine load should have caused a problem this morning. Speed was never an issue in as much as page loading came up as quick as it should do. The shift from https to http may well have been coincidental.
If there's an event logger then the minutes leading up to posting the OP might reveal something.
Will report if the problem persists.
