True to a point as frame materials differences are hard to detect by a person but a quill stem is definitely noodley compared to a modern ahead stem. Probably doesn't make the sprinter any slower but it doesn't feel great!

True!! Not to mention quill stems are much heavier compared even with cheap a-head stems!
