have a pair of avid v brakes used but in good working order
like these
Strengths:
-Rather light, for 296g a full set for a bike
-Can easily be reduced to sub-120g as it has steel hardware
-Very light brake arms
-Good mix of modulation and strength, enough flex and enough stopping power
-Spring resistance is just-right
-"After-market" look of the easily noted finish?
-Decent power from stock Rim Wrangler pads
(I gave it 5 for performance not because it beats disks for MTBing, but because of its light weight yet no compromise of strength and modulation) Weaknesses:
-Not in production anymore, expensive to get these now The Crunch:
Weightweenies' delight!
