  • Not really. He stated a while back that he reckoned that he could win both the Olympics and the TdF in the same year.

Doubt Brad will be in the olympics.

maybe the TP...but he'll have to produce the numbers, might be doubtful if he is on his best tour form...

    Remember, no Olympic IP anymore.

  • True, he did say that before the recent announcement.

  • I am sure that Sky, like Radioshack, already have a place in the Tour. They would not have been able to recruit as they have without it.

  • I guess given he was 4th last year, has a good reputation re doping stance he'll get in and Lance will.

Not so sure he has the right team around him though, any climbers in there other than Froome?

  • Arveson has won mountain points before.

Augustyn was famously at the top of the Col de la Bonnette first in 2008 (followed swiftly by a bit of shale surfing)

Lokvist has shown some climbing development as well.

  • Wiggins can't win the Tour while Schleck is cycling. Schleck can't win it until Contador gets caught EPO'd up to his eyeballs.

By then, Wiggins will be well in to his 30's and past it, he'll be running water bottles for Basson Van Hagen. Unless of course he gets caught on the meds too.

Off topic - but I read an article in Cycle Sport the other day where a top dope-tester was interviewed and they described one of the prominent names in cycling as a 'dead man walking'. I really hope it's Contador. Cheating little cunt!

  • wiggins won't win the tour, no. but a podium place would be a good start for the UK.

Not actually true. Though. As talented as one cyclist may be, they can't win the Tour all by themselves. With a dedicated as well trained team with them any top all rounder could win the tour. Wiggins is one such top all rounder and only 6 minutes down on Contador and 2 minutes down on Schleck.

As for Contador cheating? Proof or it's gobshite.

  • I've got a great Contador story, but it's one for the pub. TSK, come to Souths next Monday and I'll tell you.

  • As for Contador cheating? Proof or it's gobshite.

    They all cheat.

Search inside yourself and you'll see the truth.

  • If you're suggesting I rip open my chest cavity in the expectation of finding incontrovertable evidence if doping among all cyclists in professional cycling then I'm afraid I'm just not prepared to go that far. I get queasy at the sight of my sigmoid colon.

  • as do i!

It'll be a while before I get to Souths again. I'll try to remember to ask you next time I'm there.

  • Wiggins can win. No one would have guessed he'd come 4th last year and now he's ridden in the top 4 across the alps and pyrenees he knows what it feels like. I believe anyway!

  • Do you know what Dave Brailsford said to me?

  • not against Connie Contador

  • Do you know what Dave Brailsford said to me?

"look, there's no jobs right now. just fuck off, will you, and get out of my house"

    ?

  • Do you know what Dave Brailsford said to me?

    Harder! Harder! Fuck me harder!

  • Do you know what Dave Brailsford said to me?

Murdoch is so far up my arse I can floss my teeth?

  • Do you know what Dave Brailsford said to me?

    "do those tattoos improve aerodynamics?"

  • Do you know what Dave Brailsford said to me?

"look, there's no jobs right now. just fuck off, will you, and get out of my house"

    ?

    Not quite, he said "Hi"

this was in response to my "Hi there" with a nod as I walked past, wheeling a roller rig in Manchester velodrome.

Quite frankly, it was just the kind of solid, no-nonsense reaction the sporting world has come to expect from one of the most successful and influential men in modern cycling.

I've seen him a few more times since, but have been too busy to continue this fascinating conversation and insight into the very heart of Team GB.

  • Wasted oppo, should of at least copped his digits.

  • interview with wiggins currently on bbc five live.

I saw this.. does Brad always wear velvet blazers and funny little neck scarves for public appearances? When he's not bound in lycra of course..

  • I'm going to ride a bike now, but when I come back I'll impart some of the conversation I had with Jamie Staff on the same night.

  • it's getting dark, man, don't be a fool.
