  • They'll need another 8 riders if they get a ProTour license so I doubt we've seen the end of the signings just yet.

  • I imagine that the signature of Boassen Hagen, who is one of the hottest properties in pro cycling at the moment, required the signing of a couple of riders he trusted to work for him. That's how pro cycling works.

I was thinking it might be a 'riding partner' thing. I also think Arvesen and Wiggins could work well together. googles Sky pro cycling phone number

  • ^ That's being denied all over the place this morning by all parties involved so it's probabaly true ;)

  • No denial from the man himself yet, and he's normally quick to scotch rumours on twitter. (And call a celebrity chef a cock).

  • There's also no formal transfer process like in football so only BW can buy out his contract even if Sky stump up for it in the end. So Sky and Garmin can both honestly say they haven't done or discussed a deal as they aren't the relevant parties anyway.

  • They've just been awarded a Pro Tour license too. That should guarantee them entry to all the main races.

  • So it was a daily mail 'leak'. Are they trying to get him back for his comments about Fat faced fuckwit James Martin on his twitter. (although not sure how that would work)?

  • Nothing will happen till after the world champs I would have thought. Negotiating your Sky salary with (potentially) a rainbow jersey would be quite nice.

  • Wonder what to make of this:

"Although Vaughters has said he expects Wiggins to honour his contract, with the possibility that Tour de France champion Alberto Contador will be available, Garmin may wish to cash in on the British rider."

Contador at Garmin? Could be good for the sport. The leading tour winner riding for the one team you could have any faith in re doping.

  • Wiggins at sky, but are you gonna bang tho?

  • Wow, if that's true that's a pretty big risk for wiggins to be taking.

  • what's risky about trebling your salary.

  • In terms of success? I dunno. Looking at the Team Sky line up, I think they should be capable of supporting Wiggins in a tour IMO.

  • Would suck for him if they didn't get invited to the tour!

  • I read this article this morning. Interesting. Good luck to him.

  • I hope this does not effect his Tour chances, I know Garmin are not the strongest team, but he did finish 4th with them. I love the idea of a British team but they won't be very experienced.

  • Have you seen the team roster Malibu? With Arvesen, Barry and Flecha I'd say they had plenty of wise old heads to guide the young 'uns.

  • Does this mean that Garmin are lining up Contador as their GT contender?

  • and EBH pulling him along.

    it'll be fine.

especially without millar going off on his hero breakaways every other day.

  • Would suck for him if they didn't get invited to the tour!

I'm pretty sure Mr. Murdoch, the team Sky Soigneur, can have a word with the right people at ASO.

  • One of the deal sweetners was an appearnace on The Simpsons.

Homer joins his local cycling club the Springfield Wheelers where he meets Bradley Wiggins and helps him win the Tour de France.

    True story.

  • I'm pretty sure Mr. Murdoch, the team Sky Soigneur, can have a word with the right people at ASO.

I suspect you're right. Still, would be funny. It'd be hilarious if Radioshack got left high and dry, though.
