  • My guess would be the v brake issue is that due to cable pull issues you can't run them with sti levers with out some travel agent hack which from some reports I've read is not that great. However I will add this is not from my personal experience, just some info I've gleamed on the web about the travel agent pulley thing.

    I have Vee brakes on my cycloX. Because its what I had. I have the 287V levers Kerley mentioned, and they work great. Would prefer something like BB7 disc's, but on the bright side, a pair of deore vees can be replaced for next to nothing (I crash a lot in winter)

    More a case of not many bike companies making cyclo cross bike with disc mounts (possibly because of UCI even if a very small % race in UCI races)

    Definitly becoming more common, eg I've been eyeing up the newer disc version of the Soma double cross frameset recently.
