  • Bernie; well, not so much a spot as a first meeting. Stopped to admire his bike; the first one with unmatched wheels that I've ever liked; I think it's the front one being smaller that does it. Anyway, nice to met you. And, as I predicted, the second I put my Goretex trews on it stopped raining.

  • The "i have had enough" thread is now funny, and the spotted thread is no longer fun... WHAT IS THIS WORlD COMING TOO!!!

What's the 'I have had enough' thread?

Hm, must be in a sub-forum I ignore, I suppose. goes off to trawl for it manually

  • Oh yeah. Spotted... Has ANYONE had a bendy bus overtake you on a road where youre in the MIDDLE about to turn right. It pulled into the oncoming traffic lane (vehicles were approaching as well!!) and rudely hooted at me cause i was bout to turn. AND it had miles of space on the left of me. Cheeky facking bastard!!!!! Or was i in the wrong????

Hard to tell from your description--would need more detail, but I wouldn't worry too much about it if it was an isolated incident. If you get into similar situations more or less regularly, there may be something you're doing wrong. From the limited detail you supply, it sounds as if the driver was having a bad day.

  • Lots more bikes in country Victoria.. it's nice.

  • And (i think) because ä is a letter to itself in some languages (Swedish) and not just an 'a' with an umlaut and it comes at the end, after the 26 letters the English alphabet has.

    So: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzåäö

Just as, indeed, in German, the word "Umlaut" refers to the whole letter and not only to the two dots above it. The German alphabet is similar to the Swedish one and looks like this:

    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzäöü

ä, ö, and ü are distinct letters and form a third class of letter, "Umlaute", besides vowels ("Vokale") and consonants ("Konsonanten").

Bet you always wanted to know this. :)

  • Spotted- two people on fixed this morning, which is a record.

First: chap with a large black bag on a Mercian with mudguards, Creek Road past the sorting office/gun crime area of Deptford.

Second: black frame, white deep vee's, lower road, then the left right jink to get over Great Dover road. Lost you when you RLJ'd across Great Dover Road, was pootling along behind you until then.

  • Wayne of Big Daddy fame this morning on East Poultry Ave. Morning!

  • mornin fella!

  • Girl on a nice blue lugged frame cutting through Laystall Street from Roseberry about 9:30am as I was locking my bike. I was scowling. Sorry! It wasn't directed at you.

  • Out ma window, on Sunday evening, a fella skidding down my road in E9.
Went into the house opposite me.
    Hi neighbour!

(obviously i can't give out the number or road name, so for now, i'll just be your friendly neighbourhood stalker)

I didn't want to know, or at least there was no innate desire, but I'm glad to have been informed.

  • What looked very much like Deluka's bike minus owner in the shadow of the BT Tower this morning.

Also, I keep wondering who owns the blue and yellow Ciocc that's always locked up outside Nero on Charlotte Street. Anyone?

  • What's the 'I have had enough' thread?
