They've just renovated the Ashmolean. I was supposed to go for some function there after the re-opening, but couldn't be bothered (wish I did), so I can't tell you whether it's any good. Got a lot of press, though.

after midnight, there's an organic kebab van, which does some of the best food in the whole of Oxford, super cheap.
Amazing Vego burgers, and Gourmet burger Kitchen quality real beef burgers.
Good eats during the day- Alpha bar in Covered Market.
get yourself and your gf to G and D's for some ice cream heaven.
Or for some of the best Japanese food in England try your luck in Edamame- opposite New College
thats food covered.
attractions.
I love just wandering randomly around that city. I hated Uni there, but loved living there.
there's alot to be discovered.
1 rule, don't go in any college that asks you to pay.
Advice for a special lunch.
Go to Exeter College, with a packed takeaway type thing.
walk through the lodge, through the quad and into the Fellow's Garden.
Walk to the End, climb the steps and sit on the balcony over radcliffe square.
be confident and the porters won't chase you.
Visit the chapel afterwards- the most underrated thing in Oxford IMHO.
Clap the Mound at New College.
visit Cowley for a more visceral experience away from the tourists.
head up to the Botanical Gardens and enjoy the peaceful Isis river, and amazing greenhouses.
have a beer at the Turf Tavern after admiring the bridge of sighs, next to the Bodlean
have a beer at the White Horse, its tiny and excellent.
have a beer at the Three goats heads and congratulate yourself on the cheapness and deliciousness. -
