• I have a nice (IMHO) Mercian road/touring bike for sale - just a little bit small for me.

I say tourer because it has a 531st frame which I believe has a little stronger down-tube. It has mud-guard eyelets and clearance however there's no where to mount a rack.

    Some details

    • Seat tube is 55cm c-t-c as is the top tube.
    • Has mostly SR components - brake and chain rings are marked "Red S".
    • Rear Dérailleur is Suntour Alpha 5000
    • Sakae bars have "Sakae Custom" on one side and "Road Champion" on the other. Clamp area is 25.4mm and in good order. They will need a re-tape.
    • Hoods on the levers have also split so probably need removing or replacing
    • Stronglight 170mm cranks 86 BCD - SR rings 52 and 36 teeth
    • Take 700c wheels - the ones it came with are Wolber Super Champions (Model 58 I think which take clincher tyres.)
    • 27.2mm SR fluted seatpost which has polished up nicely.

From the serial number the frame was made in 84 - the frame has the usual scrapes but no dents. A little surface rust shows through in places so I think it could do with a respray.

Not really sure what it's worth - I was thinking somewhere in the region of £120 collected from Reading. I can meet the lucky buyer at Reading Station which os only 20/25 minutes from Paddington.

Any question I'll happily answer them.

    Cheers

    Richard

PS - Yes I'll include the beans if it helps sweaten the deal.
