silenced p90, assassin's weapon of choice. (or a scoped FAL for larger maps)
stinger, token support weapon option for taking out UAVs etc
marathon pro, sprinty
cold blooded pro, quietly
ninja pro, stabby
claymore, extra kill from across the map for no extra hassle? yes please!
flashbangs, humorous
UAV, essential
predator, doesn't leave you exposed on the ground for too long like the AC130/chopper gunners and hugely funny
attack chopper, get some kills without the recursion of playing on a laptop in a game you are playing on a laptop.
My girlfriend can be quoted as saying "you've gone to piddle over that game recently"
And she is entirely correct.
Can anyone recommend something for me?
I like the look of:
Bioshock
Halo 3 (Loved 1 and 2)
Something 'shootey'
Bioshock is excellent.
Halo 3 is more of the same with nicer graphics so if you like the first 2 then go for it, but i reckon it (and ODST) reflect a bit of the nadir the gaming industry is in (no gameplay, no story, no characters, no fun).
The antidote to the Halo series poison is definitely Half-life 2 and its episodes. All the shootey you need and orders of magnitude more story, character and atmosphere.
Left 4 dead 1 or 2 also have buckets of shootey but require online play to get the most out of them.
I'm looking forward to settling down over the holidays with assassin's creed 2 and am finally working through the first in prepartation.
I love fallout 3 but was pretty disappointed when i completed it really quickly. Haven't played it since last christmas so as to allow for a replay with suitable exploration this time round. Rarely do games produce visceral reactions in me but creeping about in the the failed vaults full of lunatics was acutely claustrophobic
