Good pedal choice ;)

Smooth.
I have a small concern about the plastic loop in the top of my foot. Do you think that would be an issue?Wondering if you have a rough price in mind.

The loop doesn't really touch your foot as the webbing wraps over the edges of the loop, so it's the webbing that rests on your foot, not the loop...if that makes sense.
Unless you ride in bare feet often i think you'll be fine. :)
Not even thought about price yet as they're prototypes, so i need to test them well first to make sure i'm happy with the longevity. -

Those straps are looking nice! The first two immediate things that jump out as being an advantage is the wider strap which should help spread the pressure when applying upward pressure to the strap whilst slowing down/skidding. I find PowerGrips can dig in at the base of the toes and these look like they'll cover the actual upper part of your foot. The other is that it looks like a much quicker adjustment system which is useful if you want to ride in different shoes .

noob to anything but clips and straps, switching to power grips (would to JOL/guerney but can't wait weeks/months)
would power grips fit on a pedal such as this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=5199
my only concern is where the bolts would go thru is at an angle so there may be some "conflict"
see this pic http://www.wellgo.com.tw/p-image/B54.jpg
so...would these work or can someone suggest another (pref sealed) platform pedal?
Thanks

I have some old fixing brackets from a pair of power straps and the bolts dont look very long, so I doubt they would work with the angled parts on those pedals. Although for a like £2 your local bolt shop should be able to help give you longer ones.
I made my own straps (well I called in a favour from my mums sewing ability) and they cost me about £6 for the material, enough for 3 pairs and £2 for the bolts.

Sorry the pic didn't work, here is the link:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/44281916@N04/4132144832/I have also been riding with these since July. My power straps only lasted me 7months before they snapped. Ridding an average on 60-70miles a week

How's the strap-tesing coming along? I'm on JOL's ever-expanding list (since I couldn't find my way back to this thread), but a pair of your straps look like they'd do the biz. If your bag quality's anything to go by, I'd like to invest.

Hi,
Just bought a fixed that only has a front brake, I have some flat BMX pedals on my SS that I want to carry over to my new bike. Are these power grips the best form of foot retention on BMX style pedals or can I use the more traditional cages?

Power Grips break. Get some velcro ones, like the Dualism or Jol ones. Make sure the holes in the ends of the pedals don't have any bars in the holes though.

Thanks for the advice.
Prototype awaiting testing.
