  • Ok, thanks Ed. I will take a look, just can be a mission getting through all the pages sometimes! Cheers!

Oh, and I work at a shop which sells trek, and apparently there isn't enough of a "niche" market for this bike here (opinion of trek marketing department, both uk and USA)

Click on the 'Search this Thread' link near the top-right of the page. It'll help a lot.

  • Ah... I thought you could search only for the thread title. Noob.

  • Ugly--what were they thinking with that top tube?

It needs to be low enough that the majority of Americans can lift their gut over it, without having to cock a leg.....lazy yanks.

  • In other news..... I don't like it, I think its shit, its like a shitty Dutch shopper (the most pointless and horrific style of bike ever invented) trying to be a bastardized short distance touring machine but failing.

  • I know this isn't designed for hard riding, but surely integrating the handle bars and stem with butted joins is incredibly weak, no?...I mean for a bike that probably weighs 3 tonnes.

Weaker than seperate components yes, just look at what happened to Khe's attempt at a 1 piece bar/stem combo, I think it was laughed off the market just as quickly as it was broken and shown up for the stupid idea that it was, purely an aesthetics decision, as opposed to one based on function.

Mr muggles was very disappointed once his nice bmx bike got taken away from him:

So you've review this bicycle then? When is your findng is going to appear in Cycling Weekly? I'm looking forward to reading more about your detailed view on it.

Frankly, I seriously doubt that this bicycle is as heavy as a Dutch bike, stop spouting bollocks.

My posts lately contain about as much common sense as yours usually do :)

  • I think Dutch shoppers are a lot like Light bulbs.....

  • stop spouting bollocks.

    That's rich.

  • ^ Haha, amen.

I really don't mind if people use MY photographs. That is, IMAGES that I have captured with MY camera and took the time to post on MY webpage.

A quick nod to acknowledge the source is all that is required. Failure to do so is just rude.

For the record, the 55cm Belleville I shot weighed in at 40 lbs.

If you don't want YOUR images captured with YOUR camera used by others then maybe don't post them on OUR internet and keep them to YOURSELF

I personally can live with that loss :-)

  • nice bike wish it was coming over the pond

What's the problem? He hasn't claimed them as his own, he hasn't slated the photography or the bike itself, he hasn't made a monetary gain...
Yes, the photographs (and the copyright) belong to you, and you took time and effort taking them, but does that mean if you put them in a public space no one should look at them? Besause that's basically what you are complaining about... Or did I miss something?

  • who'd have thought a thread about a Trek could be so bitchy and entertaining.
    merry xmas everyone

Cold iron, did daddy give you the camera for 14th birthday party? If so, we shall admonish Ed severely! If not, kindly rethink your tone matey.

And as the others said, why post on the net? Maybe get your own section of the internet? Cold Iron Corner? Thank you, and good night.

  • Oh, and feel free to look at/use MY photos on MY website that were taken by ME with MY camera.

Worth noting - they are some of the worst quality photos you will find :-)

First thing first, I apologise for using your image as a reference for a bicycle I'm interested in, I am truly am.

    secondly, I'm using this image as a reference for a bicycle I'm interested in, I found it via flickr and chosen the one that I can link to, also I'm not using it for commercial gain, let alone making any money off it, I did not claim I took it, neither using it for my own gain;
