gimmicks. i don't see how any of the bike's unique 'feature' contribute to its function. they just make it more difficult/expensive to fix when they break.

This has been talked about already for age.
Fantastic concept, I don't think it's a gimmick at all, especially how people are very skeptical about belt drive and sworn it wouldn't be mass produced but now we're seen quite a lots of belt drive bicycle.
It's the first concept that I've seen that I like, a lots of the concept are pretty unrealistic in reality, racing bike with magnetic wheels, folding bike that has the wheel folded too, etc.
If my missus shouted *"I WANT IT!" *after seeing the video (and she's the type who doesn't really care about bike, as long she can ride it), then it's defintely appeal to the average cyclist who just use their bike as a transport.

I dig the invisible brake cables - brakeless singlespeed FTW!
On a serious note, it seems a bit short on storage/basket space for a shopper - surely they could manage a tidy telescoping curvey basket that starts as a small tray and telescopes out to something bigger.
