Had a great one yesterday morning. Coming over Southwark bridge on the green light having a nice little sing to myself and feeling pretty good about life in general - the mild flirtation with the fixed girl at the lights followed by us both beating away a class war pisswit - when I spied with my little eye a line of traffic facing me, waiting for the lights to turn green.
A girl in a Mini had decided that this was not a line of traffic she wanted to be in, so she started a three point turn, right
into
my
path.
I was only going about 20 miles an hour at that point, but she was only about ten feet in front of me. I only avoided being squashed between the car and the pavement by an increasingly panicked series of yelps, for which I received a filthy look both from the car driver and the passenger.
As I was panting and recovering my breath, she overtook me with fully revved engines, I can only imagine in an attempt to add insult to (near) injury. Was a successful attempt too, imo.
Got to the lights on the other side of the bridge and was not singing anymore. Terrifying.
