Incidentally, fixed-gear riders really should stop congratulating themselves for riding their bicycles more than a few miles at a time, especially since they *stop pedalingjust as much as riders with freewheels*.
1st point against = How many miles on the second leg? 60ishmiles fixed is tough enough thankyou. I can't even imagine riding fixed over double that distance. Sure, it's not the most amazing feat like riding around the world or something but it was a nice enough film and a good excuse for an evening out.
2nd point against = pigs arse. Riding a long distance without a freewheel or gears is much more strenuous once hills are inevitably involved. Hence why the freewheel and derailuer gear changing system was invented.
