2009-12-12 Sat - Tweed Run Christmas Treasure Hunt (LFGSS Christmas Party 2009)

Ladies. Gentlemen. On 26 July, 1924, The Daily Mail reports that a drunken band of London's smart set had been spotted, extravagantly costumed, trundling through London on an evening treasure hunt. The Mail - even back then not one to miss coining a disparaging term - called them 'The Bright Young Things.'

In honour of these stylish socialites, we bring you the Tweed Run Christmas Treasure Hunt.

The Rules

• The hunt begins at 7pm, at Hoxton Square and finishes at 9:30pm at the Black Heart for the London FGSS Christmas Party.
  
• You enter the treasure hunt as a team. Your team can be two, three or four people. There is a limit of 20 teams.
  
• At Hoxton Square, you'll be given a file containing cryptic clues to six stops to go to, where you will be given a task to do. Each rider will be given a passport that will be stamped at the stops upon completion of the task. The file will also contain a list of items that you can bring back for extra points.
  
• You cannot divide up; your entire team must arrive at each stop together in order to have your pass stamped.
  
  
  

You will need the following:

• A bicycle for each team member
  
• Lights, locks, an A-Z and a bag
  
• Some pocket change for each team (about £4-£5)

the treasure hunt will take you from the vast overgrown plains of hoxton square through the wooded glades of victoria park, and out to the wild nethers of camden-shire. i think brown brogues will somehow be appropriate.
