It's you. Anyway, he's English. It's my mum who's a Scot.
So one cannot resemble a Scot unless one is also a Scot?
-

Yes. It's a genetic thing. So typical of the English to wade in and try and steal shit from the Scots when it suits them.

See - you can tell by the headtube (etc) he's a 6-footer:
is that your dad???
very cool to have a pic of your dad riding an old track-path bike, I wish my dad have even own a bike when he was young -

I wish my dad have even own a bike when he was young
+1, I also wish I was brought up cycling. I feel like I've missed out on a childhood of bike rides.

You haven't met my dad. Apart from being a habitually massive pychopathic cunt during my childhood, he'd quit the bike by the time I was born, and wasn't any more pro-bike than any other dads I knew. The odd moment here and there, but he wasn't really prepared to go to extra lengths to nurture the sporting promise I showed in a variety of disciplines.
But he did show me how to fix a puncture, adjust a rear mech, and split a chain. Not bad for 18 years' work :/

Beautifully crafted English bike! Like it!

I miss my bike.
I hope it's being ridden somewhere.

Worry not, it's done nearly 6000 miles since you last saw it. Very well loved in it's new home. Even a couple of 80-90 miler rides in the country side. Was a bit of a heave getting it up Toys Hill, but it managed even that (albeit with a freewheel fitted - fixed would have been something else all together!)

Awesome. Are the wheels still lovely? I think they're my reference for fine wheels nowadays.

Pain me though it does, if you're really missing the bike I'm on the cusp of moving abroad and might be persuaded to return it to you! Rear wheel had to be rebuilt with new spokes (the nipples had welded in, being alloy, and the shop couldnt get cx-rays in time so theyre just normal triple butted dt swiss, but of course the rim and hub are both going strong). And I changed the handlebar tape to brooks leather to match and upgraded the brake lever to a salsa metal version. Er, tyres have been changed couple of times too. Otherwise it's how you sold it.

I can't afford it! Boo. No chance for at least a few months... probably January or February at the earliest.
So I'm probably out. Depends on your timetable.

I'll be back and forth, and it will probably stay here, so do get in touch after Christmas if you're still keen and I'll see whether I've found for a use for it elsewhere or not. Had to buy another bike for lands end to john o groats you see, and I dont need two...

I'd love to be an intermediary between owee and Velocio, riding it until Velocio could afford to buy it from me. Still, I'd feel a little mean riding it into the winter.
