*"...MASIL stands for Manuel Silvestre Lourenco and was founded back in 1964 in Lousa (Lisbon Boarders). Soon they became the major frame suppliers of Portuguese racing teams. Masil was deeply involved with the now extinct cycling department of the Grupo Desportivo da Lousa with whom Adelino Teixeira(1977) and Francisco Miranda (1980) won the “Volta a Portugal”. Most famous Portuguese cyclists race with Masil bikes at some point in their careers. Marco Chagas, Joaquim Agostinho, Joaquim Gomes to name just a few. Masil supplied their frames to teams like Recer Boavista, LA Pecol, Bom Petisco Tavira, Louletano till mid 2000s.
