http://www.pashley.co.uk/products/guvnor-plus-four.htmlyeah i know, i know. but they're so pretty. i would't have paid £1500 for one anyhow. but they're nice to look at.

At the cycle show there was fixed gear pashley prototype. Can remember what it was called but its coming out sometime in 2010. I think they are also making a fixed gear bike with three speed, some new crazy stermiarcher fixed hub.

might as well get the condor tempo 3 speed instead, they seemed like a better value for money.

news flash:
i really really really want a guv'nor plus four. it's lush. it's kind of my new obsession.
+1 They are absolutely gorgeous, really need to build myself a bike similar to that.

They do look nice, but basicaly its a fuckin waste of money.
How much is a custom frame?
Made to measure?
From good tubing?
That doesn't weigh a ton?
With good parts?

A lot less.

what's stopping you? it's much easier and cheaper to do, especially without having the inferior design, the weight and the price of the Pashley;
This is infinity time better when a framebuilder want to build a 30's path racer style bicycle with modern technique/equipment.

Oh I definitely am going to build one myself, i'm thinking I could do it for about £400, just waiting until I have that sort of disposable income =P

That yellow frame is fantastic!
Any info on it?

£400? nah a lots less than that, especially with coaster brake (only £20 for the hubs).
as for the mustard olive bike, it's build by A.N.T.

Ive always been hugeley dissapointed at pashleys lack of attention to detail on their bikes.
They sell themselves on being traditonal britsh classc handcrafted and all that shizzle,
but look at the brake levers on that ! uggghh! £800 quids worth? Appollo bikes come better equipped.
Totally agree, shitty ugly cheapo components and incredibly heavy...

just some more info. Thats his "light roadster" named for whatever reason. There are many options that you can pay for, one of which is the additional curved top tube.

http://antbikemike.wordpress.com/options/Those bikes set you back about 3500 USD. Certainly a luxury.

that modern thing is awful

far more functional and practical than the old thing mind.

Who wants functionality and practicality when you can have beauty?

Keep your money and build your own -

It is cheaper and probably more rewarding to build your own path racer, but it's a big ask for most cyclists. Which is a shame because there are some things about the path racer ride that tick all kinds of boxes the everyday cyclist never knew they were after.
For admirers of the Guvnor Plus Four, we have some new coverage as the current top story:
http://www.guvnorownersclub.com
And there's an article about custom path racers in the works.

I really wanted one but after seeing it in the flesh & a quick ride, I was a bit unimpressed (the gear & brake cables look rather out of place), so I pimped a 30s "Stadium" with a few Brooks bits:
Being original, it feels more "special" than a modern replica - and you have to oil the Sturmey hub every ride :)
Suprised that no-one's mentioned the forthcoming Pashley Clubman (or have I missed the thread):
3-speed fixed or 2-speed kickshift :) but at a grand, I'll pimp my own again

That's really nice, i've got something similar, rod brakes are fecking awesome, just need to get myself some leather bartape/grips, toestraps and some white tyres.

Also, seen a Guv'nor last night at Souths, though everyone was distracted by a guy taking a shower...
