SRAM Torpedo Hub

If you'd just arrived at the top of Tourmalet in the TdF and were about to descend, I think it would be worth hopping off for 30 seconds to make the next 20km much, much, much easier...

I seen these TdF peeps. Nowadays they have dangly bits under the rear wheel, and flicky bits under the brake levers. I'm not sure the Torpedo, would catch on there... ;)

I'd still like to see one with a disc mount, so that it would have a point.
eg. a cyclocross commuter which you want to ride fixed on the road, and then hit the trails running SS with loverly disc brakes. You'd still be running the same ratio on and off road though. Which doesnt sound right. Maybe a White Industires double-double style set up would be a good idea?

It sounds like too much faff to me though.
