  • I've just passed my Paramedic course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working as an EMT on the mean streets of SE18 for a few years and have had to undergo selection assessments and exams, a year of pre course study, an 8 week course of lectures, scenarios and role play assessments, many written and multi choice exams, modules on advanced life support, trauma life support and management, obstetrics, paediatrics, paramedic drugs,ECG recognition and loads more. I still have to go to hospital starting next week, and work under a consultant anaesthatist and an A&E consultant for 4 weeks before being unleashed on you lot, but as you may have gathered I'm well happy!

Thanks for listening, you've been a wonderful audience, g'night

  • well done to you :)

  • Jeez man that was quick!! Thanks very much

  • nice one, congrats.

  • Well done Kurt, a feather in your cap !

  • Congratulations mate, admirable. That there is a proper job.

  • Well done, a very worth while and tough job.

Once your fully free would you fancy becoming one of the bike paramedics?

  • Well done Kurt.

I keep seeing a bike paramedic around the St.Paul's to Farringdon area, and I always smile, because in him, I see the best of both worlds.

  • Wow-well done-not easy.plenty of work for you out there.Be proud of y'self!

  • That's fucking EPIC!
    congrats!
I'm pretty jealous, have an NZ quali, but been working volunteer style occasionally here.
hope to be doing more in the new year.
    Well done Kurt

Need to get back out on my bike and get my fitness built up again (I've been a bit preoccupied as you know), but I'm applying next time the secondment comes up.

Thanks for the kind replies everyone.

    Peace

    Kurt

  • Well done Kurt! Look out for me on your travels. I'll either be the van that gets right out of your way when you're hurtling past on blues and twos or your next cardio casualty on the slopes of Shooters Hill.
    Congrats!

  • I've had my life saved on no less than two occasions by paramedics. On behalf of everyone, thank you. An extremely worthwhile and important role.
