I definitely felt discomfitted on first seeing the phrase 'massive homo cunt' posted on this forum. I can't speak for the gays, but the ironic misappropriation (?) of a Latin term seems flawed.
There was the South Park episode recently where they dealt with the use of the term 'fag' as a label that didn't imply homosexuality in the minds of the main characters (cleverly dealt with, as ever), but I doubt even they considered 'homo' when devising their satire.
I don't know Will's outlook in any detail - he may proudly call himself queer or whatever - but if he thinks 'homo' is inappropriate, I doubt it's due to his kneejerk Daily Mail reading persona.
