No offence intended, it was a comment on the arrangement for the photo and nothing more. :-)

Nice D.R. He was a great bloke who liked a good 'ol chat.Late 70's track & TT frames i had from Dave had started using the Russell/Slough swan logo on the headtube. When i worked at Ken Ryall's shop he used to be scathing about him (Dave) and his frame designs(no seatstay/chainstay bridge,76 parallel pursuit frame circa 1976).At this time Ken was using Stan Pike to build his frames which were a little more conventional.Going by the logo's i'd guess at mid 70's. -

Needs crabon cranks and bras
Nooooo, carbon cranks are rubbish. Might put some DA7710 on though.
Not sure about carbon bars, I like the shape of these, although I might try some ec90
Could use an Mavic IO front too perhaps? :-)

hilarious that you put it up as a piss take and people are commenting on the parts!
even better if it gets voted "build of the year" that would kind of make the whole fixie thing implode and leave a big hole in the space time continuum.

Not sure about 'build of the year', not exactly practical for the streets is it?
Riser bras ftw. -

Has anyone every heard of a Heidemann Werke Einback frame. The decals say the model is a "lazer custom" (yes, that is how laser is spelt on the frame) and it has a "made in Western Germany" sticker on it?
Any good? Anyone seen this before, tinternet doesn't seem to have much info on it -

Riser bras ftw.I'm all for riser bras, but gizmond's bike is not practical for "the streets" because it is a track bike, made for track racing. and that's what he uses it for. This is why I find the whole thing amusing.
@giz. ermm dunno. on my race bike it's the adjustable needle roller bearing onde 7700?
on my fixie/rollers/training bike I have an ultegra or 105 road version which works and is sealed cartridge bearing.get the better one.

okay, number one - why do you have a three foot seatpost on the white one?
number 2 - it looks like the white bike is mounting the green one. Hot bike-on-bike action, there

chrome Sunn I got this morning, woo! I can see my face in it. I'll do a decent picture when its finished, which won't take long
this was in a very sorry state this morning when I picked it up - the guy said 'yeah, the brakes are broken, and the back wheel's doing something funny'. He wasn't kidding. I've already binned the gripshits and mechs.
I'm after some cheapish 26" wheels if anyone's got any knocking around

Fitted a cheapo Concor saddle from Tour de Ville to my current project, despite the huge colour clash it looks (and more importantly, feels) so much better than the Brooks saddle did.
I need input on bar tape though. I'm changing the bars next and will need to wrap the new ones, but not sure what will match the dis-coloured saddle. I'm almost tempted by brown tape but think that would clash with the paint job. Perhaps white tape and just rub dirt on it to get it as brown as the saddle?

Any good? Anyone seen this before, tinternet doesn't seem to have much info on itYup, Heidemann (town = Einbeck, Westfalia) was a quite wellknown bike company in Germany. Mainly regular bikes, city, touring, trekking, kid, that kind of stuff.
The first time I heard about the brand was when our LBS was selling "race" bikes from Heidemann to school kids. You may know these: fenders, kickstand, rack, derailleurs, chain guard, drop bar (steel), suicide levers, possibly stem shifters.
Later I visited the company for my profession. There was a very nice chap (engineer) called Thomas Beye, who had a crush for (road) bikes.
I resent that. The Shorter is being built up with gears and brakes for proper Time Trialing.
The Harrison is just a hack bike for getting to where I need to be.
