I presume he was joking, it would be impossible to do anything like that and get anywhere near the tolerances required.
Anyway, back to your question. The problem is that the seatpost came as part of the tubeset, so 1 post per tubeset, additional ones, people had to order, they where never a shop stock item, so no stocks left over etc, etc. Meaning that to find one now, it needs to have come from a frame that got trashed but the seatpost survived, very little chance of someone thinking 'frame is toast, but I'll keep the seatpost to sell to someone in 20 year time'
You'd have better luck with a max seatpost, air, I doubt you'll find. Give it a year or 2 on ebay, one might eventually pop up.
Frame was cheap, now you know why. :-(
