Tell me about it... I've seen some silly numbers on the speedo coming down there.
I was going to check her bike over but realised that would have seemed somewhat sociopathic.

ouch - hope she is not too badly injured

According to a motorcyclist who stopped to call the ambulance she was bombing it down Parkhurst road with no helmet and tried to hop onto the curb from the bus lane at about 20 mph and goes straight over the hadlebars face-first into the pavement.
dont want to seem insensitive but WTF? How? Why?
But anyways +1 to getting healed up fast and hopefully she will be alright.

hmmm, well I don't know for sure - but I couldn't bunny hop a dutch bike? Perhaps it looked that way to the motorcycle but she actually misjudged? Fingers crossed for her

I doubt it was a bunnyhop per se, rather trying to hop the front wheel onto the curb or just plain-old riding straight into it as a means to get onto the pavement.
Pretty big fail but it only takes one bad decision and a split second. We've all been there.

Could just have been too fast for her talent. Heal well. Wise up!

maybe it was a full speed hop into a front manual sweet inside overtaking manuva. thats what i would have done...

She wasn't moving except for a some small finger movements** (arms were splayed out) **and there was a lot of blood around her face/head. One person was holding a tissue to the back of her head.
Does no-one know the recovery position anymore??

i hope she is ok.
i wonder what caused her to want to move from the thoroughfare to the pavement.
some polluter causing an obstruction ?

I think most likely it was a brake fail. Hope she's not too badly hurt.

sounds nasty... never mind teeth, they can be fixed, lets hope she didn't suffer any head trauma...
Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Ouch. Sounds nasty. Yes, could well be her brake failing--it's pretty hard to know what to do at that moment if you're really not prepared for it. In any case, it does sound as if she lost control for some reason.
Just saw this, about 14:50 on Parkhurst Road.
Female rider on a black dutch bike. According to a motorcyclist who stopped to call the ambulance she was bombing it down Parkhurst road with no helmet and tried to hop onto the curb from the bus lane at about 20 mph and goes straight over the hadlebars face-first into the pavement.
I stopped to just see what was going on but there was already a few people around, one guy on the phone to 999 and a couple of people trying to speak to her.
She wasn't moving except for a some small finger movements (arms were splayed out) and there was a lot of blood around her face/head. One person was holding a tissue to the back of her head.
I didn't see her face and don't think she was completely conscious.
Couldn't really make myself useful so just rode-on feeling a bit sick.
Hope she heals up ok and hasn't fucked-up her teeth or anything.
