Actually you should always look over your shoulder before you RLJ. While you're dong it is just too late and won't do much for your claims of innocence.
If you do get hauled into court and feel like fighting it, make up a story about the copper not seeing you are a previous junction and being made to look silly before busting you on a yellow. It might sway the judge to call it down the middle. Mind you, if the copper has an onboard cam then you don't stand a chance.
