Like Matt, I too think that getting a custom built court at Brick Lane built would just be the bestest and most bad-ass.
I think the assoc should dedicate some proper effort to this. Getting it levelled, adding lights, etc..
This is so perfect for southies and northies meeting, it's the most central, it has great after-poloness.
It's great for gaining support and public acknowledgment and we were getting somewhere with them!!
But this would take dedication from a group of people (but oh the satisfaction!!)
No matter what these are year-long projects that will take following up and someone leading that.
Is this something people would support the Assoc doing or is there someone out there who'd want to head this up?
So right now our court choices are:
Mitch - islington
Pros: lighting, big, council support
Cons:
Downham - hackney
Pros: social seating
Cons: no lights, non-communicative council
Brick lane - tower hamlets
Pros: great location, additional common space
Cons: shape, slant, no lights
Euros location - southwark
Pros: huge, 2 courts possible, local resident support, minor council support
Cons: would need complete build, nothing around
Highbury Fields - islington
Pros: supportive council
Cons:
So the questions are would people support (become members, help) the Assoc working to make a court that is ours either permantently or nightly?
Should this be handled by an individual and not the Assoc. If so who?
Should no one bother (everything is good the way it is)?
If you think some body should be working on this, which court most deserves the effort (besides the ones already nominated)? Maybe we run a poll later.
Please fill in pros and cons of the courts already listed. Continue list...
