I have just finished my joe waugh and I have to say that it is (so far) the best damned frame I have ridden...and I have gone through a few, if anyone knows if dave yates was making these frames for M.Steels in the early eighties it would be nice to know.
It is a 653 from about '83-'85 and is a tight road frame...It rolls so amazingly well, it really, really surprised me...I have been grinning from ear to ear riding it. I bought it of the man who had it built and he was luckily exactly the same size as me apart from my legs being slightly longer (1/2 inch) and that he was a guy (is there a difference?)...though it fits me so nicely. He had an amazing woodrup tt frame that made mine seem heavy though it ended up being a bit too much than I wanted to pay...
I'm sure this would be a beautiful bike to ride and a pleasure to own.
Just to add tuppence to the thread,
