If you want to split then I'm interested in the frame, but what's a magic gear?

Vertical dropouts = no way to adjust tension within the frame itself. Magic gear is a combination of sprocket/chainring that allow you to run a correct chain tension.

Thanks Lolo. You got it. Don't want to split if I can avoid it. I think this is a good deal for a full bike so hopefully someone will grab a bargain.
Not sure of the age of the crankset I'm afraid. Good condition though.

Hi -
I'm looking for a starter fg bike for my partner. I'm out of my depth here. Is this a good bike for commuting to work and basic city riding? He's nearly 6ft, so the size would likely work, unless I need to know anything about inseam.
What's a bb and about how much will it cost when it needs replacing?
Thanks - sorry for the rookie questions.

Hi Enabler.
Thanks for the questions. I'm a smidge under 6 foot so I think this would be fine. Your partner would of course be welcome to try the bike out before making any commitments. A replacement BB would be about £15 and the labour in a bike shop to have it fitted about the same. No other maintenance is needed and the bike runs nicely. If it's a first fixed bike then it's always sensible to get comfortable riding fixed out of the traffic before you start commuting on it. This is a great starter bike and for getting around London the gear ratio is good. I'll drop you a PM with my number so feel free to call with any other questions you might have.
Thanks,
James. -

PRICE DROP! I don't want the hassle of putting this on ebay and then posting it so I've reduced the price to £185. £185 for a complete fixed gear with solid spec. Anyone?!

Jimalex - I'm a FG noob, looking to get myself a steed! I'm about 6" and not far from Hackney so would be great to come around and have a look. I might not be able to PM yet, not sure...
Also, is it a flip-flop hub or pure FG? Cheers! -

I'm selling this bike as there are too many in my kitchen. I built it as a fun winter bike but it is surplus to requirements.
*Aluminium Orbea TDF Team Euskatel replica frame circa 1994 I think. Nice orange / yellow fade paint job with metallic blue branding. Not very stealth! Top tube 54cm seat tube 53cm. Comes up kind of large as I'm 5'11" and it fits fine. I would usually ride a 56. This frame has vertical drops so it's running a magic gear. Carbon fork with alu steerer. Cane Creek headset. Front wheel is a black Mavic Cosmos radially laced. I think 28 spoke. Rear wheel is a Mavic Open Sport laced to System X fixed/fixed hub. Both silver. 17t Soma sprocket. No name lockring. Selle Italia saddle in a Concor style. There are some rips in the back of the saddle. No name seatpost but micro adjust and shiny! ITM Big One stem. Black risers from BLB. Orange Charge grips. Cane Creek crosstop brake lever. Tecktro dual pull black caliper. FSA Vero cranks 170mm with Stronglight 45t chainring. Shadow Industries half link chain. Front tyre Specialized Armadillo. Back tyre something random. .
Please note! The BB has some play so will need replacing. It's ok to ride right now and isn't making any noise but a replacement will defo be needed soon.
