@tynan i meant sawing of the top of the seatpost, not the bottom. Some carbonposts have the ability to remove the saddleclamp and shorten it.
The saddle clamp is bonded (glued) into place - remove the glue, chop the post and re-bond - not too difficult if you know what you are doing.
Would be easier to buy a new post or put a faux faring onto a straight (non-aero) post.
