The London-Brighton route is quite good with only 2-3 proper climbs. PM Oliver to see if he has a map form of it and try to connect from Eastbourne on googlemaps*. You might even be able to avoid Ditchling Beacon!
*I've done a couple of 20-30 mile rides around the Suffolk countryside that were fairly traffic free just by looking at googlemaps and picking some of the smaller roads between villages. Don't be afraid to blaze a trail!
