  • apologies maybe a little OT but i've searched and not really found a solution.

Basically when i screw in my derailleur hanger bolt, it starts to go in fine and then just stops. The threads all look fine so is it a case of giving it a clean and some grease?

  • If you hadn't cleaned it and greased it already, you should have done.

  • Thread fail on so many levels...

  • You obviously need to buy a Thorn M8 fine grub screw for eccentric bottom bracket.

  • It's a fine M10 thread, the same as a Shimano rear axle.

I post threads just to see what products I'm recommended.

  • dont listen to these people, you need a spag-bolt with a offset eccentric thread made of titanium/cast iron alloy.if this dont work just do what we all do in times of desparation hit it with a big lump hammer

  • sounds like a crossed thread on either bolt or frame

mmm, any lbs should be able to re tap the threads.

  • cheers, rive gauche and velo libre. although the reponses have been funny for my now obviously stupid question

  • Sheldon Brown used to use an old axle with slots cut in it as a makeshift tap.
