Does anyone run these or similar. Zero G etc...
Planet X are doing them for £100 a pair in most colours.
Worth it or not?
Bargain, mate. They look sweet!

really? or you don't like paying £400 for a set of aluminium cranks.
It wasn't the cost. I just can't stand the new look. I'm used to and happy with the 7800 series. I was actually contemplating that crazy FSA aero set but that would look like I was trying to hard. :)

@ Hippy - How do you attach the cable to the brake? Do they supply some kind of thing that fits over the cable?
-
• #37
Yep. A little barrel that the cable slots through which is then clamped with allen key. It sits in the red 'claw'.
-
• #38
Ah, that makes sense.
Does it look like it'll hold the cable properly?
-
• #39
That's a big "maybe". Scherrit said the old one with two screws was particularly shit. I guess I will find out. Emergency stop testing ftw

To buy or not to buy?
Difficult decision, don't want to be crashing brand new road steed in to wall at 90 million miles an hour.

I think I'll buy them and try on my winter bike first.

Slow?
I propose a race. Duathlon. 50 mile ride, 10 mile run.
Winner gets the others bike???

I've used a similar thing on some annoying mountainbike brakes and never had a problem with them slipping. If they do slip go to a motorbike shop and get another there, some motorbikes use the same thing.

I run zerogravity and love them, though the modulation feels a little different to a normal dual pivot brake.
That said I'm also 147lb so what the fuck would I know about brakes.
Get whatever hippo recommends. -
• #47
I want Nokons.
-
• #48
I fully recommend them (Currently featured on every bike I have that uses cables).
Best upgrade ever. -
• #49
Have you seen these? Made of ceramic, like dishes and mugs and that.
S'posed to be btter than Nokons.

Regarding the brakes. We were talking about them today. The cable clamping thing is a bit shit and they're supposed to be pretty damn flexy.
I suspected as much before buying them but since this is my TT machine, I wanted something a little different and I won't be using brakes I figure no problemo.
**I would be very unlikely to move away from Shimano brakes on a proper road bike.
**exactly how i feel.
