I'm siding with dj on this one, but purely for his use of the word 'umbrage'.

Got a link for those ebay ones? I could do with a set of those for my road bike...
Bugger. I bought them on sale a couple of months ago. It seems like the cheaper ones are £65. If you on a tight budget you can go for R540 SPD-SL or PD-5610 105 SPD-SL - they're giving them away for a steal.

cheers, I might stick with my (slightly battered) Look Keos, until I can afford the ultegras/find some cheap ones somewhere.

Mind though, they're twice as much in my LBS.

I'd try these first, but on eBay (from Highonbikes or a similar seller), as they're listed with the starting price 99p

Im not getting involved... But if the title says - recommend me a pedal, its probably a noob asking a noob question, why bother looking in the thread? Its not like it said "OMG Check This OUT!!!" or "this is amasing (amazing before someone corrects me again)" - if someone has that as a thread title - i say nuke them!
In all fairness, this is a useless thread to those that know, but strangely there have been worthwhile answers from people who cared to answer. I know nothing about pedals as i push my bike along while sitting on the saddle.

Anyone know when these will be available?

Road pedals fom the following manufacturers:
Shimano
Campagnolo
Look
Speedplay
TimeGenerally the more you spend, the better a pedal is, be mindful of paying top dollar for a pedal that has, for instance; a ti axle when weight is not important to you. Some things make the pedal better and some make it lighter. Shimano pedals are fantastic and if you're new to clipless I'd always suggest these regardless of your budget.
In the following budgets I's buy these:
Around £50 - Shimano 105
Around £100 - Look Keo Carbon
Filthy rich - Speedplay Zero Ti -

Yeah great, but the originator of the thread is probably going to buy these because they look like sweeties.

DA pedals are a waste of money. Carbon DA pedals will be more so.
"Shimano Rep. told me that the current design has failed there stringent wear test. Expected delivery time is said to be sometime in the middle of 2010."
