except the OP asked for road pedals, not MTB ones.
the only bit I find odd is the "preferably in black" bit.
they are small things which clip onto the cleats under your shoes and get scratched, you cannot see them when you are on the bike, I can;t see the relevance of colour in the decision here.
anyway, shimano SPD-SL or Look Keo are good road pedals.
