Recommend me a road pedal

It is not a forum for sensitive types though is it. Which I think is what makes it better!
There is an expectation that people know the basics or if they don't they would have done some initial research on it.
Maybe there needs to be a beginners corner or the like where people can ask whatever they want and get answers rather than 'direct' replies (if anyone can be bothered to answer)

I know I know. Don't know why I bit at this pretty tame example of UTFSism to be honest.
