    Some manufactures void the warranty if a particular hub is built radial. Some (DT Swiss) market their front hubs as radial hubs.

    Its basically due to the placement of the drillings. If you design a hub to be 3x only, then you dont need much material directly between the drilling and the flange edge, as the spokes will be pulling perpendicular to this.

    In many ways radial is a stronger design for a front wheel. But this is very dependand on the build though. Apparantly spokes can loose tension easier, so details like how/if the threads are treated become more important.
