If its a Zipp Rim then radial is fine.
If its a road bike, or a track bike just to be used on the track then thats also fine.
If its something to be used for hacking it around urban streets then no, 3x it up!
All my front wheels are radially laced to low flange hubs (even the MTB wheels) - zero problems for years and years (if well built) - even for smashing around town, steps, curbs, policemen* and so on.
