Sorry, I have to sarcasm detector off, so I might be misunderstanding you. What I can say is, without a frame number and a receipt I bet the cops would have said: 'no definitive proof, your word against hers, she 'owns' the bike at the mo' by your own admission, take the locks off, and see if you can take it to court.'

The fact she was prepared to return the bike and accept no money is the kind of honest and altruistic behaviour that I think we should all support. Feel free to disagree.
