Felt tip pens (water soluble) were what you used for RR in the old days. I bought a newer edition that came out a few years ago and they had included wax crayons, which didn't really work at all. Your hands didn't get quite as smudgy as with the old pens, but it didn't look good, wasn't very clear, and wasn't actually that easy to wash off.
