  • Bjork & Sigur Ros are definitely up there, but for me it's gotta be this:

    winner.

  • Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Abattoir Blues / Lyre of Orpheus

I thank you! The man's a tofu-munchin' genius! He recorded the entire album in his apartment in NYC.

And he's fucking good live - saw him at Brixton and he was on for about 2hrs.

  • Kings Of Leon - youth and young manhood

    fixed

  • I think it was wiped out when the server fucked up. You on Facebook ?

yeah yeah that would be it.
im already on her list so if you are too get ready for a treat.

  • kind of surprised it had no mentions already - so i will do the honours:

    The National - Boxer

Also - more recently, and on the electronic side:

    Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing

  • good book, rubbish film

    +1

  • Panda Bear - Person Pitch

  • Some of these have already failed the test of time but bollocks to it, restricting myself to one album by each artist, here are some of the albums released in the last decade that I have particularly enjoyed.

    Rialto - Night on Earth
    Ladytron - 604
    Lasgo - Some Things

  • How the fuck did I forget Riot?!?!

That was a fucking amazing album!

Analogue was also very good, they've still got it.

  • kind of surprised it had no mentions already - so i will do the honours:

Also - more recently, and on the electronic side:

    Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing

    Love that album

  • Kings Of Convenience - Quiet Is The New Loud
Kings Of Leon - Because Of The Times
    Beck - The Information
Hercules & Love Affair - Hercules & Love Affair
William Elliott Whitmore - Ashes To Dust
William Elliott Whitmore - Songs Of The Blackbird
Carl Craig - More Songs About Food & Revolutionary Art
The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible

    • many on kings of convenience, the information, hercules+love affair and W.E.W.

However, and the same with most peoples quotes about Arcade Fire - Surely Funeral is a far more coherent [and ultimately "better"] album than Neon Bible [which is still magnificent]?

  • No competition:

  • I'm with Pisti on the MGMT LP... That's a solid piece of work, Fleetwood Mac for the 00s... And Corny's M.I.A. pick, great record... My picks are Too Much Guitar by The Reigning Sound and Bad Mood Rising by The Tearjerkers... You probably won't have heard of them... Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro and Welcome To The Infant Freebase by The Soundtrack Of Our Lives don't quite qualify, cuz they're a bit too early... But they rule...

  • I thank you! The man's a tofu-munchin' genius! He recorded the entire album in his apartment in NYC.

And he's fucking good live - saw him at Brixton and he was on for about 2hrs.

Saw him at the Garage a few years ago, fucking amazing live and to be so close up was awesome.

LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver

    ROCK
The Black Keys - Rubber Factory
    Beirut - Gulag Orkestar
Man Man - Six Demon Bag

    BLUES
    CW Stoneking - King Hokum
Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm – *2 Man Wrecking Crew
    *
    INDIE
TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain
Joanna Newsom - Milk Eyed Meander
Liam Finn - I'll Be Lightening
