Surely the point, if you want one, is to find for the best price, wether it be for Vitra or Herman Miller.
The only difference that I can see is the base pegs are slighly higher on HM.
It depends how particular you are, the liscenced production history of these types of furniture is facsinating (if you are interested) and the fine details between one set and another means a lot and usually effects price. The new Modernica Eames armchairs for example in original fibreglass made with the some of the original equipment are in my opinion a lot better than the new Vitra Polypropylene ones although both would be considered to be 'authentic'.
I'm told there's an Auction at the back end of each month next to West Ruislip tube station, allegedly good stuff.
There a hoooooge car boot sale at Denham roundabout just off the A40 every Saturday, J1 of the M40 I think, its Oxford Road off the A40, entrance in Denham Country Park.
Harefield has its very own monthly auction, but doesn't get the stuff you're after, too small, most things go for £3.50 !! Hence various ornaments etc in my house........
Watford Oxfam has furniture bargains, as does one near over Ilford way, big Sainsbury's nearby, can't think of the name at the mo.
