i'm planning on getting myself my first 'proper' bike. after much lurking on this forum and checking out far too many websites, i've decided on getting a nice custom frame, kitted out with budget parts that i can upgrade bit by bit as and when i can afford to. i've decided on a steve goff frame, as i like the look and the price. problem is, i don't have the time or money to venture out of london to get fitted, so will just have to send the dimensions to him.
does anyone know somewhere in london with a bike fitting jig, aside from the bike whisperer? i'd rather pay less than the £95 they're charging. or is there somewhere in london that can measure me up and build me a lugged frameset for £400?
also any other advice would be welcome, eg. whether it's worth spending 2 hours of my time and a sizeable chunk of monies getting fitted to the millimetre and instead just asking for a standard frame geometry or getting something otp, etc.
