Love the understated looks of the frame. the narrow profile of the fork looks a bit off though.

Many thanks for all your responses - fear not this was not a precursor to going off and wiggling a frame - but I wanted to hear your thoughts.
Good point made regarding durability/dents, but then a frame with a dented tube could be rebuilt.
Mercian in 953 in polished tubes it could be..... but will spend some time on arranging test rides

Whats the opinion of the more experienced Roadie blokes on here with regards to Guru Frames?
-
• #33
Get a frame made of sweets and glue.

Seriously, you HAVE to test some bikes! Otherwise you're leaving it to chance/arbitrary consensus.

If you get 953, you'll only get the main triangle as 953. No-one is yet making things like forks and chain stays from 953. Yes it's lovely, yes it's lighter and stronger, but I would probably go for a 100% Ti frame if a Ti frame was available to the specs I want.

Interesting, didn't know that. So not much of a frame for life if the rear end is slowly rusting away from the inside...

Are you sure about that? Brian Rourke makes 953 frames and the rears are stainless steel and un painted, might be some other tubing though.

Strong frames have a spec sheet with chain/seatstay and BB shell specs.

No forks though.

Enigma quoted me £250 to replace the downtube on a (Ti) Airborne frame, nice if I can get the owner to part with it!

As far as I know yes. Last time I checked was 6 months ago when I asked for my new bike to be fully 953 and was told that the forks would have to be 753 as Reynolds had not made the tubing available for 953 forks. About a year before I was told the same in relation to chain stays.

You ordered one?
What size?
I was looking at one of these for my "nice fixed-gear/SS bike" next year :)
-
