second - Chris King bmx gripnut - will not fit a standard road bike as the bore diameter of the tubing is smaller on a bmx - this has been tested (sorry forms) £50
Haha, no problem buddy.

Not sure this is the case, as the cups are too big for a standard 1 inch frame....

-
• #14
Just too big mate, i wouldn't want to try and take any depth off the side of the cups...
It's probably on a couple of mm, but I think you should just except that the head set isn't designed for a road/track frame -

Provisional dibs on the Edco and Tange headsets and second dibs on the Record headset if that falls through.
What's the crown race diameter on those sets please, ISO, JIS, Italian???
Cheers. And re: the Chris King headset, as forms said there is no chance of fitting it to a road frame, road cup diameter is 30.1mm vs BMX 32.7mm...

drill a mil out of the inside of the headtube and bash the fucker in, would be perfect for my beater, not sure its worth going through all the trouble tho.

all items updated.
What i thought was a crappily tapped frame turned out to be a crossed thread on a bb which has just gutted my bb shell. Should have known better - yup. Got the cash to pay for the repair - only if they take pocket lint...
Soooo, round two of plundering the vault to avoid raiding my childs piggy bank is on.
First up is a resprayed 531c MB Dronfield grasstrack frame which i picked upfrom the mighty roberto in a shade of shocking green that no man could love - i was going through my glitter phase and figured that a trip to Bob for a metallic black finish could only be a good thing - and my god it was...
56ctc square, slightly slacker angles than a track frame and with clearance for a 28 tyre but no toe-overlap, a few chips from crown race removal and slight wear but pretty much perfect... £230
For the smaller cyclist, a joe waugh fillet brazed 853 tt frame, 48ctt seat/53ctc top tube - i needed the forks but the rest of this is just going to waste - if i was half my size i'd love to ride it.
comes with a chorus headset which is missing the crownrace for £75.
six headsets all 1",
first - basic chorus-a-like, unbranded, loose bearing nothing special £5
second - Chris King bmx gripnut - will not fit a standard road bike as the bore diameter of the tubing is larger on a bmx - this has been tested (sorry forms) £50

fourth - complete Campagnolo Chorus headset, very good condition - sold to skelator

third - sugino75 pitted but again, a little work could save - £15
fourth - random sugino bb no bearings - £5
one pair of orange 650c deep v's 32hole - just need powdercoating to make some desirable hipster fronts - £20 the pair
one pair blue 26" mtb deep v's 36 hole - where they got the slightly wider extrusion for the chukker polo rims from - £20 the pair
black powdercoated, dmr trailblades 20mm thru axle, disc brake forks - the definition of bombproof £35
black, white industries Chub 20mm thru axle disc hub - some spoke pull on the flanges but tough as hell - - £45
black, white industries ENO, 135mm mtb spaced eccentric rear hub - absolutely brilliant idea but i never found a reason to use it - brand new - £85
tufo s3 pro tubulars in red and black - glued once used twice, minimal wear. £25 the pair
