Interestingly enough, he still is. Ride BMX is still a magazine too, and if you had bought a copy from about 6 months ago you would have seen him (Billy Pendergast) on the cover of it doing a trick that led him to split his heel in half.
Took him awhile, but he's walking again, and he's just started out on his BMX again in the last two months.
The trick was flying into that big bowl, coming up the other side and flying over the fence, over the sidewalk and into the street. He did it a few times, then pulled up to much, lost control and landed on his heel.
