Spoks rightly come in for a lot of criticism when applied wrongly, but it's worth remembering that they were an aerodynamic improvement over the then current wire spoked wheels back in the late 80s, and even the great Chris Boardman used them for domestic time trials.

There's a picture in the Boardman bar at Manc velodrome of him riding a front Spok, I keep meaning to take a picture of it. Maybe if hipsters think they are actually used by racing cyclists then the fashion will die out.

Actuallty, what will happen to all the little orphan spoks when the fickle hand of hipsterdom casts it's net of egotistical ignorance elsewhere?
